Gambling will never disappear. There’s gambling in every part of our lives and in the center of our lives at gas stations, competitiveness between friends with betting, watching sports, and if you’ve ever traveled, you’ll even see slot, “gaming”, machines inside the airports themselves. I’ve even gone as far to see them at our local cigarette stores right in the back which is why we created our St Louis Gambler Shirt!
In Saint Louis, it’s no different, our city is a gamble in itself. Look at what the recent tornados did to our city. What inspired the Probably at the Boat St Louis Gambler Shirt?
Everybody in your family has someone that loves to gamble. Either for fun or for high stakes. My family is no different and my grandmother loves the penny slots because it’s low risk high reward. She’s won plenty of times from what my mother told me, which also gives me to the source of how I came up with the name. So anytime I ask about my grandmother 3 out of 5 times, she answers, “She’s probably at the boat” and it just made me laugh because that’s my granny. Love her soul.
When I got the shirt, I had to show her, and she couldn’t do nothing but smile and laugh. That lovely interaction produced her telling me I should get her bowling shirts created and I’ll officially announce we will have bowling shirts available at some point on the site!
This is proof that ideas can spawn out of anywhere. For me all my ideas spawn from my real life. Either through experiences or my real-life problems. Big Guy Drip was essentially a glitch because this was more an outlet for my creative space when I don’t want to get tattoos created heh. It turned into something fun and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be able to produce my own designs and get them out there to the world!
Design choices for the Probably at the Boat Gambling T-shirt
This shirt is part of our Stl shirts collection, and I wanted to stay on theme and make sure St. Louis was the center of the design. For a St. Louis Shirt it needs to resonate with the people because the people here are passionate about their city, even when they are pissed off!

So, we obviously had to go with the Arch. The center piece of the city that is hard to miss when you drive through our city. Then I wanted a large Casino sized boat made with the intent of expressing that this is the St Louis Casino’s that you see on TV. And the iron it out with a great view of the sunset. Nothing too crazy, kept it straight forward and simple. I will say the font took a few attempts as I didn’t like what the artist was producing, but eventually we got something that fit after giving them the necessary revisions.
